Thanksgiving Emergency Plumbing Repair | Phoenix Plumbing Company

Be Careful with Holiday Cooking: Cooking grease and oils put a real strain on drains, pipes and garbage disposals. Grease and oil are more likely to collect and clog when your plumbing is colder, so do your best not to pour down the drain. Also, refrain from putting hard to grind objects or stringy substances down into the disposal. Always run cold water through the disposal for at least 15 seconds before and after each use. Be sure to turn the disposal on before filling it with food debris.

We want to insure that you have helpful tips to keep your home safe and your plumbing running smoothly. We understand that the more people staying at your house, over the holidays, the more probability for plumbing accidents. SO DON’T FORGET!!! Marlin Services has no hidden or additional fees over this Thanksgiving holiday weekend. Call us if there are any unexpected Emergency plumbing repairs that need to be taken care of.

Thanksgiving with Marlin Service

Turkey day may just be the busiest plumbing day of the year. Plumbers across the country will be on call all day Thanksgiving Day waiting to rescue those who stuff the turkey carcass down the kitchen sink.

Did you know that the four-day weekend over Thanksgiving averages a 21% increase over any other Thursday through Sunday period during the year for plumbing calls?

Thanksgiving hosts can avoid a visit from their plumber over the holiday weekend by following these clog-preventing tips:

  • Never pour fats or cooking oils down drains. They solidify in pipes. Instead, wipe grease from pots with paper towels and throw in trash.
  • Avoid putting stringy, fibrous or starchy waste in the garbage disposal. Poultry skins, celery, fruit & potato peels, for example, cannot be sufficiently broken down.
  • Make sure the disposal and the cold water are both running when you put food into it. Don’t wait until it’s full to turn it on.
  • For homes hosting weekend guests, it’s a good idea to wait 15 minutes between showers so slow drains have time to do their job.Never flush cotton balls, swabs, hair or facial scrub pads down a toilet. They don’t dissolve and will cause clogs.Try to address any plumbing problems before the holidays and before your guests arrive. However, in case of a holiday emergency, Marlin Services doesn’t charge any extra fees. As always, know your limits. Often, minor plumbing problems turn into plumbing catastrophes if not handled properly.
